Rf microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that utilizes tiny needles and radio frequency waves to rejuvenate the skin on the face. During the treatment, the needles create microchannels in the skin, which causes a controlled injury. This controlled injury triggers the body’s natural healing response and stimulates collagen production, leading to improved skin texture and appearance. This procedure addresses various skin concerns, fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, large pores, and uneven skin tone.
Following the rf micro-needling procedure, it is common for the skin to appear red, like a mild sunburn. This redness is a normal response and should subside within a few hours to a few days. To promote proper healing it is important to avoid applying any makeup or skincare products to the treated area for 24 hours. This reduces the risk of irritation or infection. In the days following the procedure, the client may experience some peeling or flaking of the skin. To alleviate any discomfort or dryness associated with the peeling it is recommended to apply a gentle moisturizer.
Not recommended if you are/have:
- Taking Accutane (recommended to wait 6 months after discontinuing Accutane)
- Skin infection
- Active cold sore: history of cold sores, it is recommended to pre-medicate with an antiviral medication starting the day prior to the treatment.
- Pregnant
- History of keloids
- Hypertrophic scarring
